This is Karl Christian.  I worked with him at the start of what later became a global change programme in a leading wind energy company.  The business was capacity constrained by a number of quality concerns, such as “dry glass” that resulted in:

• 1 in 20 blades being scrapped

• 1 in 5 mould days lost due to rework

• 28% resin loss

After 3 months of on-the-job coaching, Karl Christian and his colleagues had:

•  Made 100 blades sequentially with no “dry glass”

•  Increased the output by 25%

•  Reduced yield loss by 71%
